About Travel Risk Standards
Whilst Travel Risk Management is not new to many, over the last few years organizations, countries and individuals have collaborated to consider the Duty of Care element more deeply and to decide if standardization in this field was appropriate.
TC262 is the ISO technical committee for risk management. Find out more below:

In 2018, an ISO working group was assembled under the management of TC262 the ISO Committee dedicated to Risk Management.
ISO31030:2021 Travel Risk Management Guidance for Organizations was published in 2021.
In 2024, a second standard ISO31031:2024 Managing Risk for Youth and School Trips, was published. A team of ISO developed this standard to compliment ISO 31030 to offer specific guidance for schools, colleges, youth groups and those that support them when they travel.
Both are guidance standards and belong to the ISO31000:2018 Risk Management family of standards. Guidance standards are designed to help an organization to align with the principles of industry good practice.
